Kristen Lethem
My work is primarily about the exploration of patterns within the landscape created by the interplay between topography, vegetation, shadow and light. Each landscape has its own pattern, using a restricted palette helps me convey this to the viewer, drawing them into the work, allowing them to focus on the pattern forming a script and developing into the language of the landscape. Kristen is a Sydney based artist with a Bachelor of Art in Visual Communication and Design from Sydney College of the Arts ( University of Sydney0 and a Master of Fine Arts with a painting Major from University of NSW Art and Design.She has been a Finalist and award winner in numerous Australian art prizes including the paddington, Muswellbrook, Hunters Hill, Mosman, Waverley and Norvill Art Prizes.
